Sashi Atkinson Osorio is currently a senior at Brooklyn Technical High School and will be double majoring in Astrophysics and Political Science at _____  in the fall of 2025. In the future, Sashi hopes to be at the intersection of science and policymaking and work to address the disconnect between scientific innovation and policy implementation through public outreach and fostering trust and understanding between the public, government and science sectors. 

Over the past few years, Sashi has hosted science workshops with several Girl Scout troops, bringing science education to over 100 girls around New York City. Her workshops endeavour to spark young girls’ interest in STEM and build their confidence. She developed her workshop curriculum based on her experience teaching at the Center for Aerospace and Applied Mathematics in Manhattan and working as a Girl Scout Camp counselor. 

Sashi began the Stars and Beakers Podcast in 2024 with the goal of creating a platform for exceptional female researchers to share their work and experiences and connect and give advice to young aspiring scientists.
